Para-Athletics Javelin and Shotput

Earlier this year, para-athlete Abhishek Chamoli was in the headlines, for having won a bronze medal at the Men’s Javelin Throw F-54 at the Asian Para Games 2023. Abhishek has previously participated in Italian Open 2023 World Para Athletics Grand Prix where he secured a Gold medal in F54 Javelin and Bronze medal in F54 Shot Put F54. And, participation in Paris 2023 Para Athletics World Championship made Abhishek bring the Paralympics Quota for India.

Abhishek got into para-sports after he met with a road accident and sustained a severe injury to his spinal cord. He was left bedridden, completely paralysed below the chest. At 21, Abhishek decided to take up sports to make a fresh start in life and carved a niche for himself.
