India got its first medal in para archery at the Paralympics 2024, thanks to Sheetal Devi and Rakesh Kumar. The duo won the bronze medal in the mixed team compound open archery event after narrowly beating Italy's Eleonora Sarti and Matteo Bonacina. Sheetal Devi, 17, is the world's first female Para archer champion without arms. She started training in 2021 and within three years she has become an ace archer, winning medals at para sporting events.
